Ron Nicol is a Senior Advisor at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and an award-winning business consultant with profound insight into public and private enterprises. During his impressive quarter century at BCG, he has also served on several distinguished boards and in government, including advising a presidential administration.

Nicol has served in a variety of roles at BCG since joining the firm in 1987. Before becoming a senior advisor, he was a longtime senior partner and managing director, holding roles including global leader of the Technology, Media & Telecommunications practice and chairman of North and South America. Nicol has worked on major business transformations with a number of Fortune 50 companies, and received a Top 25 Consultant award from Consulting Magazine.

He has also held senior positions with Babcock and Wilcox and was a US naval officer, serving aboard a nuclear ballistic missile submarine and teaching nuclear engineering. He is currently serving as Executive Chairman of NUBURU, an industrial laser developer and manufacturer; as a Board Member of Austin Industries, one of the nation’s largest construction companies; as a Board Member of the USNA Foundation, a not-for-profit supporting the Naval Academy; and as a Board Member of Top Aces US, which provides advanced airborne training to the world’s leading air forces. Previously, Nicol also served as Chairman of the Board of Visitors for the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

Nicol holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Duke University where he was named a Fuqua Scholar by faculty of the Fuqua School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from the United States Naval Academy. He is also a recipient of the Distinguished Graduate Award from the United States Naval Academy, as well as the Congressional Medal of Honor Society Prize for outstanding engineering work.
